It’s cold. It’s hot. It’s cold. It’s raining. It’s hot. Yep, the great British spring is never easy from a sartorial point of view. If you’re in danger of reaching peak North Face, giving up entirely on any sense of joy or style, then here are some of the best scarves to update any outfit from a biker jacket to a breton and back, saving you from the chills in the process.
They’ll take the whole family right into summer too, multitasking for the kids as bandanas in the sun, and as a quick hair tie on a breezy beach.
& Other Stories has some great scarves in this Spring, I’ve already got the pink tiger scarf, which has had loads of compliments. I never normally wear pink, but the tigers sold themselves to me. I’m trying to justify the crayfish scarf too (below) for its cute detail. Both scarves work with pretty much anything, and there are heaps of others too. http://www.stories.com. M&S has some lovely bandanas in right now (above), similar to the ones you can buy on pretty much any street corner, but a much lovelier quality.
Over at the high end, I’ve got my eye on the Kenzo Eye scarf which is quirky and fun, and then there are some other scarves of gorgeousness over at http://www.Liberty.co.uk
For the men-folk there are some great skinny scarves around too if you’re bold enough in the style-stakes. http://www.selfridges.com is a good bet, with a great Paul Smith number for the more conservative dressers, and flamboyant Dries Van Noten for their amazing Lobster scarf which I’d personally be nicking if it made its way into our wardrobe.
For the kids, Polarn O Pyret are a good bet, as are Zara kids and a personal favourite quick DIY option is to raid the Liberty off-cuts box and run up a quick square yourself – it takes minutes. http://www.aubrie.com.au has lovely co-ordinated pretties to match their utterly gorgeous dresses and playsuits for younger girls up to age 6.
These are just a few picks of a plethora of scarves out there – UK spring sorted.
